Filming next week!

Hi Parents, As you know next Thursday is the day Room 3 is filmed for the school movie.

If it is a rainy day we still film as our scenes are shot in caves.

Your child must have:
 Their school bag
A plastic supermarket bag (for wet gear if it rains)
Sandals, gumboots or footwear easy to slip on and off(shoes and socks are not appropriate)
A VERY warm jacket (jersey’s are not appropriate as they may not fit over their costume) Whether it rains or not, it will be very cold. Treat it like your children are going to the snow.
Leggings (recommend) or shorts underneath WARM pants they can slip on and off easily (their lower legs will be seen in shots)
A black or earthy coloured top (as opposed to bright colours) to wear underneath their costume. (singlets recommended)
A decent lunch with drink bottle
A raincoat to go over their warm jacket.
 Girls: unwashed hair (explained below)
(optional) A beanie for wearing after filming

PLEASE HAVE ALL PROPERTY NAMED. It will be much more likely to come home.

How well prepared your child comes on the day will affect how much they are in the movie.

Please have your child at school as early as possible that day, anytime from 8AM. Children will be padded up with stuffing taped to them. I know it might make for an uncomfortable car trip to Waihi for them but unfortunately we don’t have the time needed to do this to all the children after we reach our filming destination.

The scenes will be shot in caves. The children will be barefoot in the film. Your child will need sandals on the day to protect their feet on the walk to the cave. Shoes and socks are not appropriate as they take longer to get on and off.

All children need a low cut top, such as a singlet, to wear underneath their costume. T-shirts are okay but please make sure they are black or a natural, earthy colour so it doesn’t stand out.

Please leave your girl’s hair unwashed the night before filming. This will help with the teased up look that is required as part of their costume.

It is recommended that girls have leggings and boys wear shorts. The children’s lower legs will be seen in the shots. Children should bring warm pants they can slip on and off when not being filmed.

Parents who are helping transporting children I will need your help in the morning to pad up all the children with their stuffing and tape. Thank you!!

We have 11 parents helping with transport on the day. Please don’t be offended if some parents are asked to stay in the car park. I’m not sure there will be room for everyone in the cave with all the filming equipment! Thank you, Mr.E
