SPELLING HOMEWORK Week 4: Wednesday

Test your child on the two words numbered below. These two words have been discussed and THRASS’ed in class. This homework will not be marked in class. If your child lacks the motivation to give this a go please let me know.

1.Pahoia (clue: 5 sounds)
2.Survivor (clue: 6 sounds)
Get your child to show you how to sound out these words using their THRASS chart. Eg. Chicken = Chair/tin/duck/bed/net

Please keep in mind that your child will be sounding the words out as they are said not how they look or would be spoken by the Queen. Eg. The “or” at the end of Survivor makes an “a” sound. So “or” can make an “a” sound like in “doctor” on the THRASS chart. Today's answers are listed below.

Uranus: Optional Fluency box book (will have library books or their own books from home otherwise)

Every child changed their book for a new one if needed (some children assured me they hadn't had time to read the one they already had so will bring that same book home again)
